Nominating My 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2007

Janette Toral started this on May 21, 2007. This only shows how "slow" I am in news around the blogosphere that's why I'm posting my pick just now.

(Although, personally, I think that the title "The Top 10 …" is quite too early to conclude & use for nomination period and is probably more appropriate to be use after the result of the final review on August 1, 2007—so, I just use this blogpost title without "The Top" in it.)

The rules said "any blog in the world can be picked (10 or less)". So I'm considering nominating non-Pinoy bloggers but I don't keep a nice bookmark of all I've seen so far. Perhaps, I'll just pick mostly Pinoys muna, and update my list soon.

 

And I bet for these emerging influential bloggers:

1) Paolo Mendoza — previously known as The-Philosophical-Bastard, but because of the gained popularity of his blogspot,  he now bought his own domain name as part of his plot for worldww domination. I put him in my #1 list not because he promised me an office to become his General when he succeeds, but because when I saw his videos, I said to myself … "hmm, pamilyar 'yang ilong na 'yan ah" … 'coz he really looks like one of my friend.

2) Christine Gambito — famously known as HappySlip, is not just blogging. She's video blogging — vlogging! Her youtube videos gained much popularity that I don't think I need to describe her more. And I don't also think that her beauty captured me as well that's why she's in my #2 list. (I have not even participated yet in her scheduled online chat and promised me anything in return for nominating her.) Christine is truly influential for aspiring video bloggers!

3) Aaron James R. San Pedro —  I was hooked in his blog not because I'm commenting on every entries he made but because I enjoyed his "Test Your Response Time" challenge until 10 tries. After that, I started to read his writings and said to myself, "mataba utak nito ah, kahit payatot."

4) Neil Brian Bernardo — aka ES2PIDO, previously enjoys his blogspot. And I liked his template design. But his stardom boomed when he won 100K in Eat Bulaga's pa-contest! He's now blogging in his own hosted domain (of course, with all those bucks, pwede na nga din siyang magpa-contest sa pinoy bloggers eh) and still preserving his ES2PIDO image. I personally think that to come up with such creative name really requires talent, "ES2"=Es2dyante + "P"=Pinoy + "DO"=Dormitarian + a cool logo image!

3) Moses Kevin Bautista — aka UtakGago. To be more precised, he's a 17-year-old-utakgago! And his articulated writings really beaten my isang-tabong bokabularyong engrish in my 23-year-old-kukote! If you happen to find wrong grammurs and spellings in my posts, that just proves how lousy is my engrish compared to him.

3) Maria Kristina Eduardo — or simply, Maki. And I'm really ashamed why I forgot to include her blog in my 10 nominees for influential blogs of 2007. Before, she's a fellow i.Ph blogger. Now, she seriously made another step-forward in her blogging career on her own hosted wordpress cms. And with these "potential pro-bloggers" in the blogosphere, they really make me think on "moving forward, too". Therefore, their "influence" must be given due recognition.

4) Coy Caballes — It's a photo blog. (Not!) It's  an audio blog. (Not!) It's a video blog. (Quite!) But if you mix them all in a blue bottle of coke, (tapos kalugin mo sabay bukas ng takip) …. and you'll get … (wet!?) Cokskiblue!

5) Aileen Apolo — aka (umm … i forgot) … aileenapolo (w/o a space). The reasons I'm nominating her blog are #1) She's a Google Country Consultant here in the Philippines; #2) I like apples (applejuice to be particular); #3) I just received a "wrong send" private message from her in my multiply.com account that really made me wonder how in the world of a google consultant & multiply.com is that possible. What I mean is, I know things like this can happen, but I just don't expect to receive these "wrong send" messages aside from sms, y!msgr, and other IM.

6) Micaela Fransesca Rodriguez — aka Micamyx. I am nominating her blog not only because she asked me to, but maybe because I have a crush on her. But since she made a proud declaration in her "About Me" that she's a certified NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth), I don't want to mess with her record since birth, so I'm giving up any of my plans to pursue my feelings. I really think that her active participation in iBlog events and her dreams of pioneering the "First Dagupan Blogging Summit" is influential enough. Although the scope of her influence concerns primarily of her beloved city and not yet the whole wide web. (well … who knows how far can her influence go outside Dagupan City.)

My lame blog here and her blog only started on Feb 2007 having PR-4. We even both have the same minimalist template. (hmm, isn't that too much coincidence? or it must be destiny?)

7) Flori Maximo —  and the rest of the Team Sugoi Stuff. SUGOI is a Japanese word for "ASTEEG". Yes, this is a team of Asteeg Pinoys, influencing people on stuffs like anime, cosplays, and other Japanese culture and even Nihonggo.

8)  Juan Karlo Licudine — aka PinoyBlogero. He is a Pinoy blogger who wants to be famous and influencial as well, in the Pinoy Blogging Community. And many other Pinoy bloggers share that same idea.So,  I want to nominate him to give him a fair chance to stardom.

9)  LIzette Lanuzo — or simply Liz. She's an active blogger. She's a good writer. She's an Agnostic. To simply put it, she's an opposite of me. Because I'm a lame blogger. I suck in english writing, and I'm not even a writer to start with. I'm a Christian. 

But still, I am nominating her blog because she deserves one.

10) Bro. Eli Soriano — He's a Pinoy preacher of the religious TV show "Ang Dating Daan". His blog is quite new and controversial. His emerging influence as a Preacher, as an Evangelist, and now as a Blogger, is making its way to the blogging community.

I am personally influenced by his preaching.

Comments on his intriguing entries gain a fair amount of varying opinions.

NOTES:

Another rule of this contest that is not completely clear to me is the "August 2006"  thing.

But if that means all nominees must be specifically started on August 2006 (and not later than that), I guess unpublishing previous blog entries starting July 2006 down to the Stone Age Era is permissible. And if that's the case, I'm also thinking if fixing/editing the dates of blog entries to fit the "August 2006" is a permissible trick, too. Pwede nga kaya?

(Well, I swear I'm not nominating my lame blog.)
